Steven Spielberg has reportedly seen the fifth movie in his beloved Indiana Jones series and the first one he hasn’t directed, Indiana Jones and the Dial Of Destiny. James Mangold is at the helm of this latest edition which will premiere at next month’s Cannes FIlm Festival.
Spielberg reportedly sat down to watch the movie this week with studio execs and Mangold himself. It seems that the legendary filmmaker loved what he saw.
Speaking at the Time 100 Summit where he was an honouree, Spielberg said: “Bob Iger had a screening for a lot of the Disney executives, and I came to the screening along with the director James Mangold. Everybody loved the movie. It’s really, really a good ‘Indiana Jones’ film. I’m really proud of what Jim has done with it.” Spielberg added, “When the lights came up I just turned to the group and said, ‘Damn! I thought I was the only one who knew how to make one of these.“
The film sees Harrison Ford return to the iconic role one last time, donning the fedora in once final adventure.
The movie is set to open in June following that huge Cannes premiere.
