Here’s an interested new TV series set to hit Netflix soon. The Griselda trailer is our first look at an upcoming limited series from the folks who brought us the likes of Narcos and it looks very similar in terms of plot.
Sofia Vergara leads the cast Griselda Blanco and tells the true story of the drug kingpin who became know as Black Widow and the Godmother of Cocaine. She was prominent in 1970s and ’80s Columbia and Miami. Basically, she ran one of the biggest cartel operations in history. This looks great and Vergara is virtually unrecognisable in the lead role.
Also among the cast is Vanessa Ferlito, Juliana Aidén Martinez, Alberto Guerra, Alberto Ammann, Christian Tappan, Diego Trujillo, Paulina Davila, Gabriel Sloyer, Martin Rodriguez, José Zúñiga, Maximiliano Hernández and Julieth Restrepo.

GRISELDA is inspired by the life of the savvy and ambitious Colombian businesswoman Griselda Blanco, a devoted mother who created one of the most profitable cartels in history. Blanco’s lethal blend of unsuspected savagery and charm helped her expertly navigate between business and family, leading her to become widely known as “the Godmother.”
The series, or at least some of it, has already screened during the summer over in the States, but the actual street date of this one is still quite away off.
The Griselda trailer can be viewed below in its entirety but it is essentially a teaser as the show isn’t set to land until 24th January.
