Eight Ukrainian features will screen at this year’s Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival which kicks off at the end of the week. A press release reads that this will be a record number of films screening at the annual festival, now in its 27th year. There will also be four shorts screening.
The festival has also translated part of its website into Ukrainian and will present Banksy’s audiovisual project Murals at the Opening Ceremony. The installation is based on world-famous artworks on Ukrainian residential areas destroyed by the Russian troops.
The 8 Ukrainian features include the world premieres of Oxygen Station (dir. Ivan Tymchenko) in the Official Selection Competition, and Lessons of Tolerance (dir. Arkasha Nepytaliuk) in the Critics’ Picks competition. 20 Days In Mariupol, Ukraine’s nomination for the Best International Film Oscar, will also appear in the Doc@PÖFF documentary section.
