A first trailer has arrived for The Garfield Movie, a new animated feature coming to screens next May. This time, Chris Pratt voices the title character accompanied by the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham and Ving Thames.
The film hits cinemas in the spring, specifically on 24th May through Sony Pictures.
Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt), the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.
Accompanying Pratt for the new adventure is Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, and Bowen Yang.
Mike Dindal directs from a screenplay by Paul A. Kaplan & Mark Torgove and David Reynolds.
I literally had no idea that there was a new movie based on the beloved character on the way. The last incarnation of the famous comic strip on the big screen was all of the way back in 2004 with Bill Murray voicing Garfield. That film also got a sequel two years later.
