A fourth film in the Frozen animated movie series at Disney is reportedly in the works. I hear you say ‘we haven’t had a third film, yet,’ but yes, Frozen 3 is coming as well.
Speaking on Good Morning America in the US last week, Mouse House boss Bob Iger said: “‘Frozen 3’ is in the works, and there might be a ‘Frozen 4’ in the works too.”
“But I don’t have much to say about those films right now. [Director] Jenn Lee, who created the original ‘Frozen’ and ‘Frozen 2,’ is hard at work with her team at Disney animation on not one but actually two stories.”
Iger made the announcement on the flagship breakfast show from Hong Kong Disneyland where a ‘World of Frozen’ has just opened – the first of its kind in the Disney theme park arsenal.
Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will also return to write new songs for the next two movies, the duo confirmed on social media shortly after Iger’s words.
Sounds like these might be a little way off considering how long this kind of movie takes to make. The first two have made a whopping $2.7 billion illuminating children’s lives all over the world. I can tell you that they play multiple times a year in my house so news of a couple of new movies will delight my two girls and countless millions of others.
