Watch: Trailer for Netflix’s Sundance-debuting doc ‘The Greatest Night in Pop’

The film drops on Netflix on 29th January.

Netflix has released the first trailer for their upcoming documentary The Greatest Night in Pop, a feature about the story behind the hit charity record ‘We Are The World’.


The documentary is set to hit the streaming service on 29th January so there’s not too much time between the Sundance premiere later this month and release.

Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper, Diana Ross, and Stevie Wonder all feature on the record and are in the film via archive footage and some through recent talking head interviews. Bao Nguyen directs the film which has its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

The logline is as follows:

Premiering January 29th, the untold story of how the global hit “We are the World” almost didn’t happen! 46 of the biggest pop music stars had only one night to turn chaos into magic. As told by stars who were there, this film reveals the rollercoaster ride to write and record the groundbreaking song that would go on to raise millions for famine relief in Africa, win 2 Grammys and become a global sensation.
