‘The Devil’s Hour’ starts filming at Amazon MGM Studios’ exclusive stage at Shepperton

Season three of Prime Video’s The Devil’s Hour has begun filming at Prime Video’s exclusive studio space at Shepperton Studios in Surrey. The start of filming marks the beginning of Prime Video’s landmark multi-million-poundlong-term lease with the studios. The new state-of-the-art facilities comprise of nine sound stages, workshops and office accommodation, totalling approximately 450,000 square feet.

Amazon MGM Studios have taken a total of nine new stages and Netflix will be taking eight in addition to their existing 14 leased stages on the original Shepperton site. The development makes Shepperton Studios the second biggest film studio in the world with a total of 31 purpose-built sound stages alongside ancillary production accommodation, the whole site covers 1.5 million sq ft.

Chris Bird, Managing Director, Prime Video UK said in an official release: “It feels fitting that, ten years from the launch of Prime Video, we’re beginning our tenure in brand new facilities at Shepperton Studios. It’s so exciting that some of our most loved series and movies around the world will be made right here in the UK, including season three of our fantastic UK Original The Devil’s Hour. Shepperton Studios have long been synonymous with world class filmmaking, and we’re delighted to continue supporting and investing in the UK creative industries.”

The third and final season of The Devil’s Hour, from Hartswood Films, is the thrilling conclusion to a mind-boggling story spanning multiple lifetimes. Returning cast include Peter Capaldi, Jessica Raine, Nikesh Patel, Alex Ferns, Meera Syal, Saffron Hocking and Phil Dunster. The series is written by Tom Moran and executive produced by Sue Vertue. The producer is Lawrence Till, with Johnny Allan, Shaun James Grant and Tom Moran directing.

The second series of The Devil’s Hour will also launch exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories later this year.
