Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery are said to be returning to their roles in a new movie in The Boondock Saints films. The project is being set up at Thunder Road and Dragonfly Films. Original helmer Troy Duffy is reportedly not coming back to direct but will focus on a series of ‘Boondock’ books.
A new director will be sought for the planned project with Duffy and Don Carmody producing alongside Thunder Road Films’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee and Dragonfly’s Todd Myers and Peter D. Graves. Deadline reported the news late Thursday.
The original film, written and directed by Duffy, revolved around two Irish Catholic brothers who become vigilantes and wipe out Boston’s criminal underworld in the name of God. Willem Dafoe and Billy Connolly also appeared in the 1999 original.
