Calling all Star Trek fans and, in my case, those who enjoyed ’80s police series T.J. Hooker, a new documentary about the life and career of William Shatner is set to head to UK screens in May through Signature Entertainment.
William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill is described as an intimate portrait of William Shatner’s personal journey over nine decades on this Earth. ‘You Can Call Me Bill’ strips away all the masks he has worn to embody countless characters, and reveals the man behind it all.
The film had a premiere at SXSW last year (2023) and has since gone on to play at the likes of Sitges and even the BFI London Film Festival last October.
William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill is written and directed by Alexandre O. Philippe (78/52, Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist).
The film is available on Digital Platforms and Blu-ray 27 May. Distributed by Signature Entertainment.
Here’s the UK trailer.
