Via an official press release, we’ve learned that Quentin Dupieux’s new comedy is to open the 77th Festival de Cannes this May.
Le Deuxième Acte (The Second Act) is the latest film from the French director and screenwriter, and will be presented Out of Competition as a world premiere on the Croisette on Tuesday, May 14. It is described as a four-part comedy that will also be released in all French cinemas on the same day.
The cast of the film includes Léa Seydoux, Vincent Lindon and Louis Garrel.
The synopsis is as follows:
Florence wants to introduce David, the man she’s madly in love with, to her father Guillaume. But David isn’t attracted to Florence and wants to throw her into the arms of his friend Willy. The four characters meet in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.
The Cannes Film Festival takes place from Tuesday May 14 to Saturday, May 25, 2024.
