As per Variety, a film based on the ground-breaking TV series 24 is reportedly in the works. The original series, which played out in real-time, first hit the TV spectrum back in 2001 and starred Kiefer Sutherland as the iconic Jack Bauer, a government agent who was tasked with undertaking various missions across the various season which spanned 13 years.
The series ran until 2014 with those nine iconic seasons, each one capturing 24 hours in the life of Bauer as he underwent his various missions. There was even a TV movie titled ‘Redemption’ which I actually rather liked.
Information on the planned film is thin on the ground at the moment as the potential project is in the very early stages. No official word from 20th Century, who are behind the potential flick, or news on whether Sutherland himself will come back as Bauer one more time.
We’ll update you as and when.
A reminder of the iconic series below.
