With two superhero franchises and a number of outstanding independent features on his resume, Chris Evans’ profile is still rising. Now word is that Evans is in negotiations to star in THE HOST director Bong Joon-Ho’s apocalyptic survival thriller SNOW PIERCER. OLD BOY’s Park Chan-Wook will write and produce and is based on the French graphic-novel ‘Le Transperceneige’. Evans has Marvel team-up THE AVENGERS to come in April and is still slated to begin work on hitman biopic THE ICEMAN opposite Michael Shannon and Ray Liotta.
SNOW PIERCER will tell the story of a group of stranded characters, on board a train after the world becomes covered in ice and snow. Shooting is expected to begin sometime this year but no word yet on other possible casting details. Evans last feature, which has yet to be released in the UK, was the true-story PUNCTURE, in which he gives an amazing performance as drug-addicted lawyer, crusading to change the US medical supply of unsafe needles. Make sure you catch it once it reaches our shores.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
