Looks like Guillermo del Toro has wrapped shooting his next film, an adaptation on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein which is being produced with Netflix.
The two time Oscar-winning filmmaker shared the news of the end of filming with his X/Twitter followers saying: “Shooting has been completed on “F” – Joy!!!”
Production kicked off on this one back in February over in Toronto, Canada with Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein’s monster, alongside Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, and Oscar Isaac.
Frankenstein seems like a bit of a passion project for del Toro, who has previously been quoted in saying: “This monster crossing the threshold, this anomaly seemed to embody everything that I thought was ‘wrong’ with me, in a beautiful way,” he said. “It was like a patron saint being discovered for me.”
Del Toro’s last live-action film was the brilliant Nightmare Alley, and has also brought his vision of Pinocchio to the screen for the streamer.
The new Frankenstein project is set up over at Netflix with post-production bound to be underway right away, if it hasn’t already started.
More as it comes our way.
