Naomi Scott stars in Paramount Pictures Presents A Temple Hill Production A Parker Finn Film “SMILE 2”

The cast of Smile 2 includes Kyle Gallner, who reprises his role of Joel from Smile, with Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage, Raúl Castillo. Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Dylan Gelula and Ray Nicholson also starring.

The synopsis of the film is as follows.

About to embark on a new world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control.

Parker Finn returns to direct.

The Smile 2 reviews seem to be fairly positive.

Indiewire seem to think that this could be the first of many instalments in a new horror series: More than anything, this sequel is proof of the endless versatility that could turn “Smile” movies into an October box office fixture for decades to come.

Horror site Bloody Disgusting said: It’s not just the sequel’s razor-sharp and inventive, gory scares that surpass its predecessor, but a profoundly complicated heroine shaping the edgier style of horror.

Trade bible Variety had these thoughts: The movie is hardly subtle, yet Parker Finn has become a clever enough filmmaker to make reality feel like a hallucination and hallucinations feel like reality.

Empire gave a positive review but were slightly more reserved: Creepy and clever but rarely surprising, this horror hits its marks well enough, but fails to surpass its more rough-and-ready predecessor.

Our Smile review is online but look our for our Smile 2 review in the next day or so.
