First look at Josh Gad and Kaya Scodelario in Alex Winter’s ‘Adulthood’

Michael M.B. Galvin wrote the script based on his novel.

Here’s your first look at Alex Winter’s Adulthood movie, a new feature by novelist Michael M.B. Galvin which Republic Pictures have just acquired for the U.S. and Canada.

Adulthood movie

The film is described as a darkly comic, modern-noir starring Josh Gad and Kaya Scodelario and should hit screens next year.

The film is about sister and brother Megan and Noah who are barely hanging on in present-day America. When they discover a dead body, long buried in their parents’ basement, the siblings are pulled back to the hometown they ran away from and into a rabbit hole of crime and murder.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Republic Pictures for the North American sales and release of our film”, said director Alex Winter. “They have great instincts and are dedicated to quality Indie movies”.

Also in the cast is Billie Lourd (Booksmart), Anthony Carrigan (Barry) and Alex Winter himself (Bill & Ted Face The Music).

As far as I can see, the Adulthood movie still has to be picked up for UK distribution. Republic Pictures is a division of Paramount and has the rights for purely the U.S. and Canada at the time of writing. I hope this gets a UK deal soon.

Producers on the film include Alex Winter, Scott Kroopf (Limitless), Russell Hollander (Flight Risk) and Lisa Wolofsky (Tow). Producers from Olive Hill Media (Plane) include Michael Cho and Tim Lee. Producers from Fresh Fish Films include Danny Roberts, H.S. Naji and Jackie Langelier.

As you can see from the first look Adulthood image below, this looks extremely dark and with the actors’ and director’s pedigree in comedy and drama – Scodelario was last seen in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentleman series on Netflix – we’re in for an absolute treat whenever it is set for the screen.
