Colman Domingo is to make his directorial debut with ‘Scandalous’ – Sydney Sweeney to lead

The great actor Coleman Domingo is set to make his directorial debut with a film titled Scandalous. The feature is to be based on a true story, specifically the love affair between movie star Kim Novak and singer, actor and entertainer Sammy Davis Jr.

Deadline reports that Sydney Sweeney will star as Novak with David Jonsson as Davis Jr. Sydney is producing the movie alongside Tani Cohen and Bobby Rock, with Jon Levin exec producing. Matthew Fantaci wrote the script and Domingo is set to take the reigns as director.

The feature will be set in old Hollywood in the 1950s and the relationship between the pair against the backdrop of rampant racism across town and America.

Sweeney is busy shooting the third season of Euphoria and the word at the trade is that work on this new film will kick off shortly after she finishes. She was most recently seen in the horror film Immaculate which got reasonably good reviews. She’s also been seen in Anyone But You and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. There was also Madame Web and the brilliant Reality which you should try to check out if you haven’t already.

David Jonsson was in this year’s Alien: Romulus, the exceptional Rye Lane and in the hit TV series Industry.
