Mel Gibson will reportedly shoot ‘Passion 2’ in 2026

Some news now on the Mel Gibson’s follow-up to The Passion of the Christ. The filmmaker is reportedly planning to shoot the film next year, so says Gibson himself while promoting new movie Flight Risk on theJoe Rogan Experience.

Gibson said that the shoot would take place “sometime next year” with Jim Caviezel returning to play the lead role.

Gibson said:

“I don’t have a start date. I just have to begin pre-production and see what happens. It’s just going to roll in its own time. It’s taking its own time. I thought it was late. It’s taking too long. It’s taking too long. But it’s probably just right. It’s when it’s supposed to be.”

The title of the movie will reportedly be The Resurrection of Christ and will follow on from The Passion of the Christ which was released back in 2004.

‘Passion’ is the highest-grossing Christian film of all time with over $612 million taken at the box-office.
