After so many rumours and apparent sightings, one might think that Liam Neeson was a gruff, sexy UFO. Nobody quite knew for sure whether he would appear in the final installment of Nolan’s Batman trilogy. But Neeson has finally confirmed that he will return in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. He has avoided ‘doing an Agutter,’ and remained very tight lipped about spoilers. But he confirmed what all Bat-fans were hoping for, the return of Ra’s Al Ghul, not seen since his appearance as the main antagonist in BATMAN BEGINS.
‘I can tell you nothing about THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, seriously,’ says told Showbiz Spy. ‘I was on set for maybe an hour and a half, and the director didn’t tell me anything of what it’s about. So, I’m being very honest when I say I have no idea what’s going to happen.’
So there we have it. Presumably, with such limited time on set, this would have to be a flashback with his daughter, Talia Al Ghul, played by Joey King. She recently revealed her role, and now all the pieces are falling into place. Unless of course Neeson is lying and has a more prominent role, and as Al Ghul himself said, ‘Theatricality and deception are powerful agents.’
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway and a multitude of stars, including Liam Neeson. It will be released on 20th July.
