Official Cast, Synopsis And New Photo For Riddick

Fans eagerly awaiting Vin Diesel’s return to his anti-hero RIDDICK have until to now, relied on only a few photos from the set (via Diesel’s Twitter account), to keep them up to date. Now we have the official plot synopsis and cast list from the third film to feature the mysterious-but-deadly character Richard B. Riddick. The information also comes with another photo of Diesel getting down and dirty, which we hope means the promises made by Diesel and writer/director David Twohy, that the character will we return to the gritty roots of their strong franchise opener PITCH BLACK, will indeed feature.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty. The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

Riddick also sees the return of Karl Urban (STAR TREK) as Vaako and introduces to the series previously announced cast member Jordi Molla as Santana, the arrogant captain of the mercenary ship; Matt Nable (KILLER ELITE) as Boss Johns, a man looking for answers; Katee Sackhoff (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA) as the Nordic mercenary Dahl; and Bokeem Woodbine (DEVIL) as bounty hunter Moss. Rounding out the cast are Dave Bautista (THE SCORPION KING 3: BATTLE FOR REDEMPTION), Conrad Pla (IMMORTALS), Raoul Trujillo (APOCALYPTO), Nolan Funk (ALIENS IN AMERICA) and two-time Grammy Award-nominated singer Keri Hilson.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
