Laurence Fishburne Enters ‘The Colony’

The great Laurence Fishburne will join the cast of futuristic, action-thriller THE COLONY, which is scheduled to begin shooting in Toronto on 22nd February. Fishburne is no stranger to the genre after appearing in the likes of THE MATRIX trilogy, EVENT HORIZON and more recently PREDATORS. The Oscar-nominee will co-star alongside DAWN OF THE DEAD and WRONG TURN actor Kevin Zegers, whose last big-screen outing was Adam Green’s little seen but effective chiller (literally) FROZEN.

THE COLONY is being written and directed by Canadian Jeff Renfroe and will focus on a group of survivors, who after being forced underground by Earth’s next ice age, are confronted by a cannibalistic clan of feral sub-humans.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
