We’re late to the party with this once as this was posted yesterday on the Daily Mail website, but it seems that Mickey Rourke is set to play gay rugby player Gareth Thomas in a new biopic. Maybe.
Rourke, 57, who was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his role in The Wrestler, got in touch with Thomas, 35, after reading his story about him ‘coming out’ last December.
The pair then met for dinner last week after the Oscar-winner invited Thomas to be in the audience of Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, on which he was a guest.
It is believed that both Thomas and Rourke’s managers are now trying to arrange a deal to make a movie about Wales’s most-capped international rugby star.
