Be Prepared For The Invasion Of The Starship Troopers!

A teaser trailer has landed, courtesy of Sony Pictures, for the upcoming CGI action film STARSHIP TROOPERS: INVASION, directed by Shinji Aramaki.

This will be a direct sequel to the original, which was directed by Paul Verhoeven, ignoring STARSHIP TROOPERS 2: HERO OF THE FEDERATION (2004) and STARSHIP TROOPERS 3: MARAUDER (2008). However, INVASION will follow in its predecessors steps and will be released straight to DVD.

Below is the teaser trailer which has been released online. Produced by Casper Van Dien – who starred in the original, MARAUDER and will also star in INVASION – the film centres around two teams: Alpha 1 and K-12. Having both been effected by the violence of war, the teams join together to fight a common enemy. From the look of the teaser, I’m guessing the enemy has something to do with the rather large, beastly-looking spiders featured at the end. However, I could be wrong, as the film is holding its cards close to its titanium-re-enforced chest.

STARSHIP TROOPERS: INVASION, directed by Shinji Aramaki, is due for release on DVD this summer.
