David Tennant is the latest big name to be attached to FAST & FURIOUS 6.
Or whatever they’ll be calling it. I’m hoping for IT’S FAST, IT’S FURIOUS, IT’S THE READY MONEY ROUND! (starring Paul Walker’s dad, Roy.) We reported earlier this week on further casting news for the film. Former Timelord Tennant joins the illustrious ranks of Rihanna (BATTLESHIP), Gina Carano (HAYWIRE) and Michelle Rodriguez, whose character Letty was apparently killed off earlier in the series. This is shaping up to be a star-studded cast, as Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson are all set to return as well. Justin Lin is likely to direct once again.
Tennant, though, is a surprise. He doesn’t quite fit the remit established by the rest of the casting, which I think is a good thing. Look at those names, every one of them are the stuff of teenage fantasy. So Tennant’s gawky British charm is a welcome addition to the testosterone fuelled franchise. And hey, he’s a sex symbol too, though for very different reasons to Paul Walker. No word yet on who he will play, though it’s likely they’ll stick him in a Hawaiian shirt and make him a computer boffin. Fingers crossed he’ll be playing the villain, because it’d be a Hell of a sight to see The Doctor vs The Rock.
