He plays Doctor Martin E. Blake, a handsome and talented medical man who is plagued by insecurities. But when he meets 18 year old patient Diane (Riley Keough), he gains a much needed confidence boost, as well as the affection of the young lady. But as her health improves, the likelihood of seeing her diminishes. So what’s a good doctor to do? Go all mental and dark, tamper with her medication and make everyone’s life worse. Hey, we’ve all done it.
This brooding and chilling performance could provide the kiss of life that Bloom’s career needs right now. He will no doubt please legions of fans by reprising the role of Legolas in THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY around Christmas, but he needs a more grounded, dramatic role to realise his potential.
