Chiselled hunk Channing Tatum has had a pretty decent year so far. Having made a name for himself in STEP UP, FIGHTING and G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA , 20012 looks to be his breakout year. A supporting role in Steven Soderbergh’s HAYWIRE was followed by romantic-hit THE VOW, as well as action-comedy 21 JUMP STREET. He also has roles in summer movies G.I. JOE: RETALIATION and MAGIC MIKE (reuniting again with director Soderbergh).
With projects THE BITTER PILL (Soderbergh again) and FOXCATCHER already lined up, word is that Tatum is currently in negotiations for the lead in Roland Emmerich’s action-thriller WHITE HOUSE DOWN. The film will come from a script by ZODIAC and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN scribe James Vanderbilt, that is being touted as ‘DIE HARD in the White House’, with terrorists taking over the building whilst the US president is in residency.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
