FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD, and THE CLEVELAND SHOW creator Seth MacFarlane is about to release his first theatrical film with TED, and here are 12 new images. The images show nothing new, apart from the fact we can expect an abundance of sitting down throughout the film. Sitting at the breakfast table, sitting on a park bench, sitting on the couch, sitting at a restaurant, and sitting in a bathtub. Even the behind the scenes shots of MacFarlane show him sitting as he directs, and sitting as he looks over some storyboards.
Mark Wahlberg stars as a man that once wished his toy teddy bear would come alive. It did, but 30 years on and the duo are still hard to separate. As Mila Kunis is looking to start a life with Wahlberg, we get a three’s-a-crowd situation where I’m sure many lessons will be learnt. I’m a fan of MacFarlane’s work, but the trailer didn’t excite me. The world in which the film is set seems so at ease with Ted’s existence that I wonder how he will be any different to the usual slob friend of a responsible protagonist. Hopefully the best jokes were saved for the film and I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
TED is released in the UK on 1st August 2012. It is written and directed by Seth MacFarlane, and stars Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel McHale, and the voice of Seth Macfarlane as Ted.
