Duo Battle Over Role In Hunger Games Sequel

On Tuesday we received the news that Jena Malone was in talks with THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE director, Francis Lawrence, over a role in the sequel of the box-office hit. And it seems that – only three days later – another opponent has entered the ring…

Reports are coming in saying that model/actress Zoe Aggeliki is also in talks over the role of Johanna Mason; the hard, fast, determined tribute who’s introduced at the beginning of the second novel, written by Suzanne Collins. Aggeliki has previously modeled for several companies and is featured in four upcoming films: FUN SIZE (2012), MANIAC, PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS and SCARED OF THE DARK (all 2013).

THE HUNGER GAMES boosted all its players into the Hollywood limelight, and there’s no denying that a role in the film would do wonders to anyone’s career. The only question is: who does Lawrence pick? Malone, who has had several years of work and has proven she can kick arse (see SUCKER PUNCH). Or the newbie, Aggeliki, who may not just be a pretty face. Who would you choose?

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, directed by Francis Lawrence, is currently in pre-production.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
