Javier Bardem to star in movie based on Chilean miner’s story?

Barely 24 hours after the last Chilean miner was pulled from being trapped 700 meters underground, Hollywood has come calling and the word on the street is that Javier Bardem is to star in a new movie based on the story of the 33 trapped workers.

Thaindian.com reports that the “Academy Award winning actor who scorched the screen with his blazing performance in ‘No Country For Old Men’ is going to play the protagonist in this movie. The script of the movie will draw from the first hand account given by the rescued miners. It is too early to say anything on the cast of the film and the actor has not said anything on his role so far.”

It is quite a story, and there will be a movie. I would treat this one with a pinch of salt at the moment, but stick with us and we’ll erm, dig a little deeper to see what else we canfind on the project. Ahem…
