Is Joseph Gordon-Levitt one of the movie biz’ most valued and likable assets? Darn right. And following his memorable turn in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, he’s about to become an even bigger star. But regardless of the current bat-fever, let’s not forget JGL is also set to star in another anticipated movie later this year, albeit one on a much smaller scale.
Yes, it’s Rian Johnson’s LOOPER, in which JGL plays Joe, a contract killer working for the mob – the twist being that his victims are from 30 years in the future, and the mob send them back in time for Joe to eliminate. Things get messy – as these things often do – when Joe’s employers send back his future self (Bruce Willis), in an attempt to ‘close the loop’.
Those anticipating LOOPER (Johnson directed the well-received BRICK, also starring JGL), can’t have helped noticing JGL’s prosethetic chops, making him look more like a younger version of Bruce Willis – and a very good job the effects team have done. But putting that aside for a moment, here’s a picture of Joe walking away from an explosion with his fingers in his ears.
