Just yesterday we posted two new stills taken from the set of CLOUD ATLAS, the complex book-adaptation directed by Tom Tykwer and The Wachowskis (Lana and Andy).
Starring Tom Hanks, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant, Halle Berry, Ben Whishaw, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, James D’Arcy and Bae Doona, each actor is to portray at least six characters. If you’ve read the book you’ll understand what’s happening, but for those who haven’t here’s a quick explanation. Made up of six different narratives, each story is read/watched by the next main character. Sounds ambitious? Yes! However, that ambition seems to have worked as the film is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The images show off some extraordinary sets and with the likes of Hanks and Broadbent starring, I imagine this’ll be very successful.
CLOUD ATLAS is due for a UK release from October.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
