An all-star cast has got together to punch Robert De Niro in the face for the comedy THE BIG WEDDING. A long divorced couple must fake being married so as not to offend their adopted son’s biological mother. Because this is how people sort out their problems in movie world. I failed to get any big laughs from the trailer but that may be because I find Katherine Heigl manages to suck the life out of any scene she appears in. The film also feels as though it has been cobbled together from the remnants of these actors’ past exploits. Robin Williams is a funny priest again (LICENSE TO WED), Amanda Seyfried is having another complicated wedding (MAMMA MIA!) and so forth.
As for the posters it appears they have replaced the cheeky and slightly original first poster with a sickening family portrait where I can only assume De Niro has farted much to the hilarity/embarrassment of those around him.
THE BIG WEDDING is released 9th November. It stars Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl, Susan Sarandon, Topher Grace, Robin Williams, Amanda Seyfried, and Ben Barnes.
