After directing Oscar-winning drama PRECIOUS, Lee Daniels has turned to this controversial crime thriller based on the best-selling novel by Pete Dexter. THE PAPERBOY will see Matthew McConaughey and Zac Efron as siblings Ward and Jack Jensen, who become obsessed with a possible miscarriage of justice case involving John Cusack’s supposed racist murderer Hillary Van Wetter. Facing a race against time as Van Wetter’s death sentence nears ever closer, McConaughey’s crusading journalist could hold to key to his freedom, but is he really guilty?
Here we have the first trailer for the film that co-stars Nicole Kidman, Scott Glenn, David Oyelowo and Ned Bellamy. A possible Oscar contender after gaining rave reviews at Cannes earlier this year, could THE PAPERBOY deliver come March? Expect it in cinemas early next year.
