Former DR. WHO and all round awesome Christopher Eccleston has been cast in THOR: THE DARK WORLD as the villainous Malekith The Accursed. With a surname like that you’re bound to be evil in some way.
Malekith is the ruler of the dark elves of Svartalfheim. I was most upset when I heard that Mads Mikkelsen’s commitment to the upcoming HANNIBAL LECTER TV series prevented him from taking on the role, but Eccleston is a fantastic choice, mainly because I love to see him in anything. Eccleston certainly has those thespian chops to stand up next to Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD is released 8th November 2013. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Christopher Eccleston, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, and Zachary Levi.
