Ivan Reitman Talks Ghostbusters Reboot And Twins Sequel

Depending on where you stand when it comes to revisiting movie classics, the news that director Ivan Reitman is considering a GHOSTBUSTERS reboot is either a brilliant decision to recapture the nostalgia of the original — or a disaster waiting to happen.

Reitman recently provided the media with a bit of a retro rewind as he addressed the public’s interest in the long-rumoured project while promoting the Blu-ray release of his 1993 hit, DAVE. He hinted that, should plans for a new GHOSTBUSTERS film come to fruition, it would most likely be a reboot with a brand new ghost-busting team. Therefore, fans eagerly awaiting news of the return of Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, et al. will potentially have to wrap their heads around the idea that a new flick might exist without wise-cracking Peter Venkman and his colleagues.

But a possible GHOSTBUSTERS reboot wasn’t the only potential project open for discussion. Reitman confirmed that he is in talks to helm TRIPLETS, a sequel to his 1988 hit, TWINS. Addressing rumours that the premise would include Eddie Murphy as the long-lost triplet to Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Reitman admitted that while there wasn’t even a script yet the possibility of revisiting the characters of the hit comedy was not off the table.

What with the recent slew of reboots, re-imaginings and sequels to much-beloved gems from the 1980s, it would appear that the trend has no intention of slowing down in the near future.

A Reboot will turn out just like Total Recall and Judge Dredd A BIG FLOP FORGET REBOOTS . Make Ghostbusters 3 without Bill Murray. Get Dan, Ernie and Harold and Rick (if possible)and a new Big Actor to star. It will be a mega hit
