For those that don’t know (or care), I’m clueless when it comes to videogames. I have no interest whatsoever in the latest pixel pursuits on the popular game consoles (I’m often told it’s due to my ancient age of 32). However, movies I know well and when it comes to a blockbuster stinker, they’re often ones based on videogames. Has they ever really been a great movie based on the that technology? I’m struggling…how about you?
I saw SILENT HILL back when it hit cinemas in 2006, while it features some striking imagery, disturbing visuals and gore aplenty, I hadn’t the foggiest what the hell it was all about. Crazy ladies screaming gibberish, strange figures without faces and some bugger with a giant triangle for a head. Please enlighten me as I’ve been stumped ever since! I’m hoping sequel SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D will hold the answers as I will never rest in my final days.
Speaking of which, we’ve the latest television spot for Michael J. Bassett’s upcoming follow-up to Christophe Gans head-scratching original.
SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D will hit cinemas 31st October and stars Sean Bean, Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Radha Mitchell, Deborah Kara Unger, Carrie-Ann Moss, Malcolm McDowell, Martin Donovan and Heather Marks

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
