The fantastic Future Cinema, the creators of Secret Cinema, have launched Secret Gallery as part of its 19th production. Opening on 31st October, the Gallery will be comprised of artworks relating to the main themes and subject matter of the current production, layered throughout the performance space. It will be curated to blend seamlessly and highlighted as a journey within the narrative, taking the work out of the traditional white cube and into a multi-dimensional living space.
Secret Gallery will provide the artist an opportunity to exhibit an existing piece of relevant work in a highly unique environment with new audiences. Committed to community, creativity and artists at its very core, previous Secret Cinema productions including THE RED SHOES, BATTLE OF ALGIERS and PROMETHEUS exhibited work from a diverse range of different artists including: Doug Foster, Rachid Koraïchi, Houria Niata, Alice Roberts and James Ostrer. Fabien Riggall, Creative Director and Founder of Future Cinema had this to say:
“Secret gallery will explore new ways of exhibiting the most exciting artists work through transformed buildings in cities all over the world.”
Secret Gallery will form a continuing exhibition space throughout 2013 and community art forum – aiming to make a legacy of art, commenting on society and sparking debate around the main themes raised by the production and the artist’s work in context.
Earlier this week, Secret Cinema also announced news of a storm coming…and got the rumours starting for what new project they’ll be covering. From 31st through 2nd December, Secret Cinema will work with the State of Oak Hampton to clamp down on vicious crimes through investigation and punish the thought as well as the offense. The State will also fund a meteorological station headquartered somewhere in London to trace the skies and bring daily reports to our contenders and offenders.
We’ll be watching the skies for news from Secret Cinema as it breaks and will keep you up to date!
