Why bother creating your own universe of films and building towards an epic collaboration of superheroes when you can just piggyback on the success of others? That’s what Warner Bros. are planning on doing as it is reported that JUSTICE LEAGUE is aiming for a 2015 release date, the same year as THE AVENGERS 2 hits our screens. We’ve known for some time that DC and Warner Bros. weren’t going to put the foundations in before erecting a building, but now they’re just being cheeky. The future of the JUSTICE LEAGUE film was in turmoil recently due to a lawsuit against Warner Bros. from the family of Superman co-creator Joe Shuster. However, Warner Bros. came out the victors and are wasting no time in getting things moving.
Rumours have run amok in regards to the superhero team-up movie that would supposedly bring together the likes of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and possibly others. Armie Hammer may be joining as Batman, a part he actually got back in 2007, but we’re still unclear as to whether or not Ryan Reynolds will be GREEN LANTERN again, and we don’t know if Henry Cavill’s Superman from the upcoming MAN OF STEEL will join JUSTICE LEAGUE. Perhaps it will be an entirely new cast.
One thing that is perfectly clear by now is that Warner Bros. are waiting until after JUSTICE LEAGUE to start a series of solo movies. A script for JUSTICE LEAGUE by Will Beall is currently in the works, but no directors or cast have been announced yet. I honestly can’t trust anything Warner Bros. spits out since GREEN LANTERN, despite preferring DC comics to Marvel. Let’s just stick with the upcoming LEGO BATMAN: THE MOVIE -DC SUPERHEROES UNITE shall we?
As for that picture above. That’s what happened the last time they tried for a live-action interpretation of the JUSTICE LEAGUE. Lest we forget.
