Vince Vaughan has reportedly signed on in a different kind of role. The fast talking, lovable rogue, can usually be found frequenting comedies along with the likes of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. However, we all need a change, and so Vince Vaughan has signed on for action-thriller TRIPLE TIME. Vaughan will play a broke US Marshall who must protect a prisoner charged with environmental crimes, after the plane transporting them both explodes. The film will be directed by Peter Billingsley, who worked with Vince Vaughan on COUPLES RETREAT, and will be written by Billingsley and Michael J. Wilson.
It does sound as though the film wont be completely devoid of comedic elements, but it will be nice to see Vaughan stepping outside of comedy for a bit. Obviously it hasn’t gone too well in the past with the likes of PSYCHO (1998), but he wasn’t too bad in THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK (1997). Vaughan will next be seen in A CASE OF YOU and THE INTERNSHIP, which he also wrote.
