With Halloween now over and done with, you’d expect Hollywood would have been ‘all horror-ed out’ for the foreseeable future. Not a chance, and one of the familiar faces (albeit most are not his) set to return to cinemas in the next couple of months is human butcher Leatherface and his backward clan of Texan cannibals in the direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 70s shocker, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE.
TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D is directed by John Luessenhop, with a plot led by Alexandra Daddario’s Heather Miller who’s travelling to the state with friends to finalise a family inheritance said to involve the infamous limp-lopping nutter. Here we have the first look at the UK quad, motion poster and trailer which isn’t a million miles away from what we’ve seen already from the US designs and footage. Like the EVIL DEAD remake, I’ve high hopes we’re going to pleasantly surprised with this latest blood-soaked horror based on an old iconic tale…
TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D will co-star Bill Moseley, Dan Yeager, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Richard Riehl and Trey Songz, and will tear-up cinemas from 4th January 2013 in the US and 9th January 2013 for us in the UK, although we’ll have special previews on the 4th and 5th January.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
