Already the subject of three disturbing PARADISE LOST documentaries by Bruce Sinofsky and Joe Berlinger, the West Memphis Three are once again the focus of Amy Berg’s latest WEST OF MEMPHIS. Produced by Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson, the film – which stunned our very own Jazmine at this years London Film Festival (read her review HERE) – aims to shed new light on the controversial murder of three young boys in 1993 and the subsequent 18-year incarceration of teenagers Damien Echols, Jesse Miskelly and Jason Baldwin, despite no evidence against them.
There is a dramatic film entitled DEVIL’S KNOT currently shooting for a release later next year (starring Oscar-winners Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon), which will depict the real-life horrors for all those involved. In the meantime, we have the first trailer and poster for Berg’s acclaimed documentary.
WEST OF MEMPHIS is expected to hit US cinemas 25th December and is still awaiting a general release here in the UK.
