Hathaway Confirms She’s Up For Spielberg’s ‘Robopocalypse’

If the perfect delight of Anne Hathaway in leather is not enough to get you hot under the collar after THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, perhaps seeing her as part of the human resistance in a Steven Spielberg blockbuster could raise the temperature further.

Yes, the stunning Oscar-nominated actress is pretty much nailed on for a role in Spielberg’s forthcoming futuristic thriller based on the best-seller by Daniel H. Wilson. She’ll join Ben Whishaw and Chris Hemsworth in the story of a world wiped out by computers and the group of survivors who band together to fight back.

Speaking to Empire she had this to say about the prospect of becoming part of the project:

If Robopocalypse happens I will be in it and I believe it’s quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything.

The script has been written by J.J. Abrams regular collaborator Drew Goddard, who this year so the eventual release of his directorial debut with ace horror, THE CABIN IN THE WOODS. Although Hathaway is being coy about the film ‘happening’, I think it’s safe to say with the project in pre-production, no-one is going to pull the plug on it now.

ROBOPOCALYPSE is slated for cinemas 25th April 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
