In what could be one of the most expansive and challenging cinematic experiences of recent times, Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski have come up with what looks like a truly unique film, based on the best-selling book CLOUD ATLAS by David Mitchell. The film has been realised after a massive collaborative effort that has also involved the Wachowski’s writing with Tom Tywker (PERFUME, RUN LOLA RUN) who also directs.
The ensemble cast features Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant and Jim Broadbent all taking on 6 different roles, in different lifetimes in order to explore how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. By the look of the trailers we’ve seen so far, there is going to be action, mystery and romance as they weave dramatically through the story. These two new featurettes mix in the trailer with interviews with the cast and crew.
CLOUD ATLAS is sure to be one hell of an emotive journey, and because of its sheer scale…we really do hope it comes across as we hope once it’s released in the UK on 23rd February, after it’s already been out in the USA.
