Mia Wasikowska Loses Innocence In ‘Stoker’ Poster

2013, the year of the Korean invasion is almost upon us. One of those leading the charge is Park Chan Wook, one of the world’s greatest living directors, making his English language debut with STOKER. The film sees a mother and daughter visited by a strange and mysterious uncle after the death of their husband/father. The poster is at first very deceptive, as it seems like the usual profile look. Then you realise that the ‘lace’ surrounding Mia Wasikowska’s neck, actually includes a number of little images such as a rifle, shoes, and a skull. It certainly made me double take, and probably hints at themes within the film that not everything is as it seems. I’d love a copy of this poster without any of the text.

Fellow Korean directors Kim Jee Woon and Bong Joon Ho will also be releasing their English language debuts next year and we at THN are revisiting each of their past works, which you can view here.

STOKER is released 1st March 2013. It stars Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska, Dermot Mulroney, Matthew Goode, Lucas Till, Jacki Weaver, and Alden Ehrenreich.

His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies.
