‘Iron Man 3’ Makes A Late Addition With Wang Xuequi. But Will He Be A Villain?

It may be just over 4 months away, but IRON MAN 3 is still to finish shooting. It’s about to start filming some key scenes in Beijing. Chinese star Wang Xuequi has been cast as the character Dr. Lu. Reports vary on the character, with some saying he is an original character created specifically for the film, and others saying he is Chen Lu, also known as villain, Radioactive Man. Wang has appeared in some fantastic films including YELLOW EARTH and BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS. The role was originally intended for Andy Lau, who dropped out to spend more time with his newly born daughter. At the time of Lau’s casting, it was reported he was up for the role of a good guy scientist, and considering the filmmakers decided not to make The Mandarin Chinese, and that the film is a co-production between the US and China, I doubt we’ll be seeing Radioactive Man shouting his classic phrase “The goggles do nothing.”

IRON MAN 3 blasts onto screen on 26th April 2013. It stars Robert Downey Jr, Ben Kingsley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Paul Bettany, Jon Favreau, William Sadley, and James Badge Dale.
