‘Modern Family’ Favourite Lands Role In Muppets Sequel

It has been confirmed that MODERN FAMILY star and comedy genius Ty Burrell is to replace Christoph Waltz in the upcoming MUPPETS sequel.

Ty will be taking over the role of an Interpol agent who follows the Muppet gang as they travel across Europe. With filming reportedly starting next month, this switch is a little last minute, but sources say that Waltz had scheduling issues and wasn’t able to commit to the project. However, director James Bobin and Oscar-winning score-master Bret McKenzie will both return, alongside newbie Burrell.

We reported back in March that Jason Segel would not be returning for the sequel; so, is THE MUPPETS 2 falling apart already? Or do you think Burrell is a suitable replacement for Waltz? Let us know what you think!

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
