The classic television procedural crime series KOJAK, was a ratings favourite during 1973-78, with famous ‘baldy’ Telly Savalas taking the title role of the lollipop-sucking Lieutenant Leo Kojack. As recently as 2005, the character was brought back for a short-lived season, this time played by veteran character actor Ving Rhames. Now it appears Universal Pictures have a big-screen adaptation on the way, with SKYFALL’s Neal Purvis and Robert Wade being tasked with penning the new film.
News also comes that Vin Diesel is eyeing the project as a starring role for a hopefully ongoing new franchise with the FAST & FURIOUS star also expected to take a producing role. We’ll keep you posted on the projects developments.
Diesel will next been seen reprising his antihero Richard B. Riddick, in sci-fi threequel RIDDICK, not forgetting a sixth FAST & FURIOUS film – both set for release during 2013.
