Shooting kicks off on UK film Best Laid Plans

We have just received the following press release confirming the start of principal photography on the David Blair directed film BEST LAID PLANS. The film stars the superb Stephen Graham and LOST star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

Shooting has commenced in Nottingham on BEST LAID PLANS (working title), directed by BAFTA and EMMY award-winning David Blair (The Street). BEST LAID PLANS explores the bonds of love and loyalty between two unlikely friends fighting for survival – and examines how extreme violence tests those bonds to the limit.

BEST LAID PLANS is directed by David Blair, winner of three BAFTAs and two EMMYs for his work on the television series The Street and Takin’ Over the Asylum. It is written by new British talent, Chris Green. The film stars acclaimed actor Stephen Graham (This Is England) who has just completed filming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and recently starred as Al Capone in Martin Scorsese’s prohibition drama series for HBO, Boardwalk Empire. Also starring in BEST LAID PLANS are David O’Hara (The Departed), Maxine Peake (Red Riding) and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost).

BEST LAID PLANS is produced by Derbyshire-based Made Up North productions and Moli Films. Producers are Michael Knowles and Stacey Murray for Made Up North Productions and Brad Moore for Moli Films. BEST LAID PLANS is co-financed by EM Media and AV Pictures, who will also act as Worldwide Sales Agent.

The film tells the story of Danny (Stephen Graham) and best friend Joseph (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), an unlikely pairing whose shared past makes them deeply loyal to one another. But when Danny is unable to repay his mounting debts to violent underworld boss Curtis (David O’Hara), a devastating series of events unfolds that will test the friends’ bonds of love and loyalty to the limit.

BEST LAID PLANS is shooting in Nottingham and the East Midlands for four weeks.
