Brit Slasher ‘Comedown’ Unleashes First Trailer

KIDULTHOOD director Menhaj Huda returns with another look at the UK capital’s delinquent urban youth, only to take a different direction – although not entirely – with suspenseful shocker, COMEDOWN. THN first caught an early screening during October’s GrimmFest event in Manchester (read our review HERE), and can safely say it adds nothing new to the tried and tested teen slasher formula other than a welcome change of location and some impressive gore. Not being a Hippoty-Hop fan, the soundtrack also got on my tits as did British bell-end Adam Deacon!

The film follows recently-released toe-rag Lloyd (Jacob Anderson) and his drug and alcohol-binging mates’ attempts at putting a pirate radio aerial on top of a condemned London tower block – only to find a mysterious psychopath lurking in the shadows. Here we have the first official trailer for the British thriller slated for release on DVD and Blu-ray from the 28th January 2013. No word yet on a US date.

COMEDOWN co-stars Jessica Barden, Sophie Stuckey, Geoff Bell, Duane Henry and Calum McNab.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
