Joseph Gordon Levitt Considered For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Role

Joseph Gordon-Levitt talks TDKR on Jimmy Kimmel LiveAt the end of last year it was revealed that the role of Star-Lord in the upcoming Marvel Phase 2 film GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, was down to just three actors. Zachary Levi, Jim Sturgess, and a then unnamed third actor. That third actor has now been named as Joseph Gordon Levitt. If you haven’t been keeping up, then the role Gordon Levitt is up for is that of Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord is a half human/half alien vigilante. He became Star-Lord, an interplanetary policeman, by an act of deception. Although he originally volunteered for the part, a NASA colleague of his was chosen instead. Quill was able to take to his place. His weapons of choice are two Kree sub-machine guns.

I would imagine that Joseph Gordon Levitt is probably up for every single role in Hollywood, including parts meant for women, being so talented and popular, so how close he comes to taking on the role is anyone’s guess. There are also still rumours floating around about Gordon Levitt continuing the role of Batman in the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie, although I personally highly doubt that will happen. No matter what, I’m sure we’ll find out some casting news soon.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is released 1st August 2014. It is directed by James Gunn.
