Like or loath his work, there is no doubt Guillermo del Toro is a visually-stunning director with a unique design style all of his own. I’m firmly in the camp of ‘love’. Whether tackling personal ‘demons’ with PANS LABYRINTH or bonkers, blockbusting action with his HELLBOY franchise, he always grabs my attention. This summer sees the release of his massive monsters versus massive machines sci-fi epic, PACIFIC RIM. Certainly an event movie that has most of us at THN extremely excited after the trailer debuted late, last year and some impressive recent stills.
Speaking of the forthcoming monster mash-up, we have some awesome concept art, used to realise the futuristic world of the big-budget adventure.
PACIFIC RIM is released 12th July 2013 and stars Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam, Max Martini, Rinko Kikuchi and Charlie Day.
